The Speaker of the US House of Representatives is now Mike
Johnson. On October 25, 2023, a Republican from Louisiana was chosen to fill
the role.
Mike Johnson, a Republican from Louisiana, was chosen to serve as
Speaker of the US House of Representatives on October 25, 2023. Not since 1859
has there been a Speaker of the House from Louisiana, and he is the 56th.
Johnson was born on January 30, 1972, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
After earning a political science degree from Louisiana State University, he
continued on to the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center to obtain a legal degree.
Johnson practiced constitutional law after graduating from law school before
going into politics.
Johnson was elected in
2015 and spent one term in the Louisiana State House of Representatives. He was
chosen to serve as the representative for Louisiana's 4th congressional
district in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2016.
Johnson is a well-known conservative Republican who backs
President Donald Trump vigorously. In addition, he strongly supports pro-life
and the Second Amendment rights.

Douglass in 1889, Johnson is the first African-American to be elected Speaker
of the House. Additionally, since Henry M. Speaker in 1859, he is the first
Speaker from Louisiana.

American politics, Johnson's selection as Speaker of the House is noteworthy.
He is a driven, youthful leader who is dedicated to furthering conservative
principles. Also, he is a fervent supporter of President Trump, whose victory
will probably appease the Republican base.

Al Baker has often courted controversy for his outspoken views on the airline sector. In June, he told CNN that the industry's net zero target was a "PR exercise" and predicted the industry would miss it.
In 2018, Al Baker apologized for making sexual remarks at a meeting of the International Air Transport Association. Al Baker had said- 'Only one man should lead Middle East Airlines because it is a very challenging position.'
After the comments caused an uproar, Al Baker apologized in a statement, saying, 'I would be very pleased if I could help prepare a female candidate to be the next CEO of Qatar Airways.
In 2020 also the airline came into controversies. Several women were removed from a flight and stripped and searched after a baby was found abandoned in a toilet at Hamad International.
CEO Baker's India connection
CEO Baker also has deep ties with India. This veteran of the aviation industry did his schooling from St. Peter's School, Mumbai and obtained an MBA degree from Mumbai also. According to the company website, Baker has graduated in Economics and Commerce.
Three teams will compete in this tournament: the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Hong Kong, and the host nation, Nepal. From October 18 to October 27, Nepal will host the Nepal T20I Tri-Series 2023.
The Triangular Cricket Tournament is being held by the Cricket Association of Nepal as part of their getting ready for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup Asian Regional Qualifier.
The competition will include three national teams: the UAE, Hong Kong, and host nation Nepal.
There will be a total of seven games contested at two locations. The Mulpani Cricket Stadium will host the group games, while the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur will host the championship game.
In a round-robin format, the three competing teams will face off against one another twice. The top two teams will participate in the final on October 27 following the round-robin phase.
The 2023 Asian Games were recently held in Hangzhou, China, and featured the cricket squad from Nepal. India, the reigning champions, overcame Nepal in the quarterfinals.
